Don Serapio’s Mexican Restaurant is part of a family tradition that started back in 1954, and is still going strong today! Sitting on Highway 66 in El Reno, it is owned and operated by Jim and Janie Meadows - veterans of the Mexican restaurant business. Jim and Janie make it a point to successfully win over every customer who has ever walked in the door.
Whether at their current location, their previous location, or in their family’s previous, Jim and Janie Meadows know that you, the customer, “makes the call”. Diners arrive from all over to enjoy the traditional Mexican food. *
Don Serapio’s specializes in true, authentic home made Mexican food. We cook our food FRESH each day. And, we prepare each item to order. We do not cook in large quantities ahead of time and then reheat it for your order. Nor do we buy precooked nor pre-made items. Each item is home made... from our special beans and rice dishes to our desserts... from our marinades for our fajitas to our tamales... even our tortillas are home made... with all the special care and attention you would expect. Our tortillas get such rave revues, we are opening a tortilla factory! At Don Serapio’s, we pride ourselves on our special family recipies...a fine tradition of quality food and delicious seasonings - along with generous portions!
Don Serapio Tamales - we use half beef and half pork, boiled and chopped, and cooked with special spices. We then prepare a thin dough from corn masa, spread it on the corn husk, add the meat, fold and cook!
Don Serapio Chile Rellenos - a stuffed Anaheim Pepper wonderful recipe! First, we skin the peppers, stuff them with cheese, then batter and fry them to order. Of course we add our own special secret spices and sauces! This mouth watering treat can be spiced up for t hose who love hot hot food or served as is for those who like it not so hot.
Our chips are freshly fried every morning, cooked in Canola Oil. Put them together with our special family recipe complementary cheese sauce and our regular salsa or an extra hot salsa.
We make our salsas from special, traditional family recipes handed down from generation to generation...so come in and give your taste buds a real treat.
